Respectful and effective parenting

Parenting is one of the hardest jobs there is and so incredibly personal too. There are so many books available on parenting. It is not enough just to get advice from an expert or someone know, it is also important to know if the person providing the advice has any similarities in how he or she thinks about children and parenting. There are many right ways to parent (and many wrong ways too).

I very much believe that children deserve a great deal of respect and are born with all the basic equipment necessary to grow into great, responsible, caring, productive adults. I believe that our job as parents and caretakers is to nurture children’s own abilities in as respectful a way as possible. I believe that children need to be taught the skills they need for the future, but it does not need to be painful or miserable for either the parent or child.

This blog will explain and show a method of understanding children’s behavior and how to manage it. This will be from the viewpoint of how to change behavior in the most respectful way, while attempting also to meet the parent’s needs for basic sanity. If this fits your own view of how you would like to deal with your children then this blog will be a good fit for you.
